Online Lessons vs In Person Lessons

Online Lessons vs In Person Lessons
Even in this very virtually adept world we live in, there is still no substitution for real face to face interaction. However, at the time of this writing, the whole word is facing a shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In every crisis lies an opportunity for growth and one of my personal growth during this time is the ability to see online lessons as a huge gift and a positive experience for both me and my students.
I live in Los Angeles but in the last month since the mandated lockdown, I have had the privilege of connecting with students from all over the world! New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada and all across the US! It has been an amazing experience and our studio have not had one negative experience or negative feedback from any of our students. In fact, they have all been so gracious that this world of learning to play the piano through a teacher online has opened up to them.
Of course there are cons to not being with our students in person such as not being able to physically move their fingers or hands into position. There also may be an interruption to internet service from time to time. However, in our experience, this is minimal.
Other than that, we're experiencing a huge upside to teaching online! Here’s some of them:

Other than that, we're experiencing a huge upside to teaching online! Here’s some of them:

- You can have lessons in the comfort of your own home on your own instrument, no more driving to lessons!
- Save money by saving on gas and save time since you won’t need to drive to the lesson.
- You can still have your lesson even if you have a cold! You can’t catch colds over the internet!
- You can have your lesson from anywhere in the world, so if you travel or move, no problem!
- You won’t ever be late to a lesson again (or at least you shouldn’t be since it’s online and all you got to do is log in on time!)
- You’ll develop a strong skill in following instructions very carefully as we explain things since we can’t physically direct your hands/fingers to show you.
Probably the most important benefit to taking online classes with us is that there may not be a Simply Music Teacher close to you in your area. Simply Music is truly a breakthrough method and approach. As a Simply Music Teacher, we can promise you that you will still get the same brilliant results whether the lesson is in person or online.
